Owned by Entercom, the station is the flagship station of the Boston Bruins Radio Network, the Boston Celtics Radio Network, and the New England Patriots Radio Network. WBZFM also airs a variety of national sports programming, including ESPN Radio’s The Herd with Colin Cowherd, First Take, and Pardon the Interruption.
The station signed on the air on January 1, 1948, as WBZ-FM. The station was originally a simulcast of WBZ (AM). In 1969, WBZ-FM adopted a full-time beautiful music format. The station changed its call sign to WBZFM in 1972.
